Galway is the perfect base for seeing the West of Ireland, but it is also worth a visit in itself. It is a vibrant and friendly city, a wonderful place to stay for the atmosphere, culture, people and events. Although a city, Galway has retained much of its small town character and is home to many artists, writers, and artisans. Galway is the unofficial cultural capital of Ireland and hosts many festivals, including the International Arts Festival in July. It is famous for its many music venues and you can listen to traditional music all over the city. Galway is a hub for international technology, and science and many of our students come to Galway to work in these fields. Our students call Galway ‘The Real Ireland’ and we tend to agree with them!
