IH Aberdeen

International House Aberdeen is a small, friendly English school in Scotland. We hope you will love studying here. With around 70 students in summer and 30-40 students outside of summer, everyone soon knows your name. IH Aberdeen staff take the time to get to know you, listen to you, help you and teach you English.

Students are aged between 16-75+, many preparing for entry to university, especially Robert Gordon University and University of Aberdeen. We try to keep classes small (on average 6-10 English students in a class), so you can benefit from personal attention from your teacher. You get to know people quickly, and make lots of friends which makes studying more fun.

You’ll also get to know the British culture – IH Aberdeen’s social programme gives you the opportunity to see lots of beautiful Scotland. We’ll help you with everything, including accommodation, booking an exam, looking for a job – anything you need!

Students come from all over the world – in a typical class of 10 students on an English course, you might find they come from 10 different countries. So you can make friends and useful contacts from across the globe.

About the school

Our English language school in Scotland started in 2006, as English for Everyone, and has attracted students from all over the world.

IH Aberdeen affiliated to the  International House World Organisation in 2010. We are an authorised Cambridge exam centre, so you can sit your exams here, too.

Our IELTS English classes are popular with students who wish to study at British universities because they receive intensive preparation for IELTS examinations from IH Aberdeen's IELTS teachers.
